What made you decide to enroll at Good Shepherd Lutheran School and what has kept you here?

"After researching most of the schools in the area, we chose GSLS. The school not only provides high quality, academic teaching, but a nurturing environment that has helped our (third grade) son to continue to grow into a caring and responsible person. If you are looking for a safe, nurturing, high quality education for your child, GSLS is the place for you."

"Both of our sons went to Good Shepherd, beginning in the preschool and continuing on until fifth grade. At that time, there was no middle school for them to attend. They have both moved on to other middle school and high school experiences and were extremely well-prepared for these next phases - both academically and socially. They gained a tremendously well-rounded education and the confidence and support to become exceptional human beings who have made wonderful choices in friends and social activities. We have no doubt that the foundation that was laid by the incredible teaching staff at GSLS helped to 'shape' who they are today. We will always consider GSLS a very significant part of our children's lives and will be eternally thankful for this path that we chose for them.”

"The decision was not an easy one for us - particularly since GSLS had tuition and the other schools were free. However, the personal attention that our daughter has received and that we have experienced as parents has made us feel like one big, happy family. The staff really cares about each student and sees them as individuals with their own personalities. They embrace this and work towards bringing out the best in them. When we toured other schools, we did not feel this same atmosphere. We wanted a well-balanced child with a good moral foundation and strong academics. We know that we made the right choice."

"The thing that tipped the scale for us was the teacher to child ratio, along with the enrichment programs and the strong sense of community. Our family feels welcome on campus each day. Our children feel safe and we recognize that this isn't the case at many schools. There is a stated discipline plan that is clear and lays out appropriate consequences."

"We chose GSLS because it felt right. We were committed to sending our children to a school that continued through middle school. The class sizes were not only small but extremely well-staffed with educators who had loads of experience and credentials. We liked the religious aspect and that our children were going to be able to develop their faith. We appreciated the large emphasis that was given to getting the children up in front of people to talk and to perform. Our business backgrounds have helped us to realize the benefit of starting this early and doing it often. Our son, who is in third grade, had some speech challenges and received speech therapy. As a result of the encouraging and supportive environment and the therapy, he has spoken at his uncle's wedding, delivered a long toast at his great grandmother's 80th birthday party, and delivered a eulogy at his coach's funeral. We know that the academics are strong and that GSLS students have a great reputation with success in middle school and high school placements. The play yard is fully staffed and the children are safe. We really consider ourselves and our children to be blessed to be a part of GSLS."

"Good Shepherd has more than exceeded our expectations. The school's high expectation for learning and behavior has allowed our son and daughter to excel academically and socially and we know that they are developing into the people we want them to be. our children, as well as our family, have made lifetime friendships and treasure the experiences we have found at our school! We are so proud of what our children have accomplished as students at GSLS."

"I am a parent of a student who has been at GSLS since the Two's class - a total of 9 years. Good Shepherd faculty and administration strive for academic excellence while caring for the social and emotional needs of its students. I feel blessed that my child was nurtured and encouraged to her individual greatness by a deeply caring and challenging teaching staff and administration. We chose this school because of its qualified teachers, small class size, and the full spectrum and challenging curriculum. Nine years later, it was a well-made decision."

"GSLS has become an important part of our family. Every day we take our son to school, we know he is in the hands of teachers and staff members who love him, care deeply about his development, and who provide the best quality educational opportunities possible. In addition, we are constantly encouraged to take an active role in our son's education. As a result, the parent-staff partnership at GSLS is incredibly strong. Other schools in our area may be closer or cost less; but for us, the choice was as easy as it has been rewarding. That our son is thriving and loves going to school every day is the best validation of our decision to enroll him at GSLS."
