Middle School

 Religion

We believe that our School is a community of grace; we are all encircled by the unconditional love and grace of God in Jesus Christ. Prayer, Bible study, chapel attendance, and participation in service projects are all integral parts of our program. The curriculum for sixth through eighth grade religion includes some of the following:

6th Grade Religion

  • Trace the beginnings of the Messianic promise from Adam and Eve until the birth of Christ.
  • Explore themes of human sin and divine judgment and grace.
  • Examine the lives of God’s people throughout the book of Genesis – Adam & Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.
  • Study of God’s people from a tiny group in Egypt to the mighty nation Israel and their journey to the Promised Land.
  • Students will learn the cycle of life as God’s people 
  • Students will examine the lives of heroes of the Bible – Joshua, Gideon, Samson & Samuel.
  • Throughout this course of study real life applications are discussed and exercised.

7th Grade Religion

  • Teaches about the key concepts of faith such as Law, Gospel, confession, repentance, forgiveness, and grace while focusing specifically on the person, attributes, and work of God the Son.
  • Teaches a better understanding of God’s action in Sacraments, Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper.
  • Provides a sequential summary of the life of Jesus and the history of the early Christian church.
  • Application to real life values.
