Our Youth Programs
The youth program consists of young people from all over Novato and beyond who try to put into action the Great Commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
We have an exciting program that helps to bring Jesus into the lives of the youth in our community. Approximately a third of our youth come from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The rest come from other churches and unchurched backgrounds.
Wee seek to keep our focus on Jesus and on His love and grace that save us. We look to provide a safe place where teens and preteens can come and explore their faith and life.
Our middle school and high school youth programs are not just activity programs that look inward. Each group meets separately each week to discuss and to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus in today’s world. We believe that Christ commands us to go out into the world to become his hands and his feet.
There is a strong service component to our group. We believe in the Great Commission to go and share the Gospel. Every year we have a “Rake and Run” of leaves in people’s yards, we ship over 100 shoebox Christmas presents to Third World nations, and we sponsor a Soup Supper during the Lenten season. WE have fed the homeless here, and in Reno Nevada. Our high school group goes to build houses in Mexico each year.
We are always looking to expand our reach and to bring both a helping hand and the love of God wherever we go.
