Carol Wise
First Grade Teacher
Interim Administrator 2006-2007 School Year
Carol Wise has been teaching first grade for 13 years at GSLS and has been teaching children to read for more than 25 years. She has experience and knowledge enabling her to detect individual differences in learning styles. She received her Master of Science in Education in Curriculum and Instruction and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Dominican University in San Rafael. She is currently an intern in the Educational Therapy Program at UC Berkeley Extension. The Ed Therapy curriculum consists of over 30 semester units of courses focusing on the evaluation and treatment of learning problems.
Carol loves teaching at GSLS because she is encouraged to create a supportive learning environment where it is safe for students to take risks and learn from mistakes. She loves coming to work each day because of the students, school families and staff.
Carol is a native Californian and lives in Novato with her husband. They have five adult children. On the weekends Tom and Carol can be found at local college football games, community music events and plays, or reading at Borders Books & Music. Her hobbies are being a life long learner, walking and traveling to visit friends and family.
