Dan White
Physical Education Teacher
I was born and raised in Larkspur and met my wife at Redwood High. We have two children. I received my B.A. from Sonoma State University and my Masters Degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anslemo. I've been an ordained Presbyterian minister since 1975, serving several parishes until I semi-retired about two years ago. I presently serve part time on the pastoral staff of the Community Congregational Church in Tiburon. I have also been a Volunteer Firefighter for the Larkspur Fire Dept. since I was 15 and now serve on their Board of Directors.
I have worked with children and youth all of my professional life and have coached children's sports for 25 years. I have been the coach for the JV Girls Softball Team at Redwood High School since 1994
I enjoy using P.E. activities as teaching tools to help children learn important "life skills" such as sportsmanship, teamwork, self-discipline, respect for themselves and others, etc. My motto is that "winning isn't everything, but trying is." I have a passion for children to do their best regardless of the outcome and to be a source of encouragement, support, and understanding of their specific needs. I try to do whatever I can so the child feels they have succeeded in the specific endeavor.
