Gretchen Simon
Drama, Chorus, Recorders & Kindermusik

Gretchen Simon was raised in Novato and proud to have taught in her community at GSLS for over 17 years. Gretchen received her education and work experience in vocal music, and dramatic arts. She received her certification through Kindermusik International University. Professionally Gretchen has been a recording artist of a Grammy nominated children’s album. She has been in the opening act for such jazz greats as Vic Damone and Rosemary Clooney.

Gretchen loves the wide age range she teaches from preschool through seventh grade. She states, “The self discovery, confidence and poise children receive through the performing arts is like no other. Most of my students do not go into the performing arts, but when I do hear back from them it is about how well they do in speeches, presentations and college interviews.” Gretchen recently heard from a former student who graduated valedictorian from her high school. The student attributed the reason she had done so well on her graduation speech was because of her performing arts and speech training at GSLS.

Gretchen has been married to her wonderful husband Ethan for 20 years and has a beautiful daughter Hannah, who is in college and a GSLS graduate. Gretchen feels blessed and privileged to teach with such a wonderful and supportive staff and to share through the Arts the love of Jesus.
