Phil Folsom
Fifth Grade
Phil Folsom graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor's of Science in Education degree. He received his master's from Emporia State University. He received his teaching credentials at Boise State University. Phil's interest in teaching was sparked when he became a camp counselor to underprivileged children in his home town of Kansas City. After teaching college students and adults, he quickly realized that it is way more fun teaching kids (because they're smarter and they pay better attention!). Phil has taught everything from pre-school to sixth grade and in between, but fifth grade has always been his favorite. When he's not devouring books, Phil spends his free time snowboarding, surfing, coaching, cooking and trying to grab an occasional nap! He has two beautiful children, talented future Harvard graduates, and two horribly behaved dogs.
